Another year planned for the annual Run For Shelter Half Marathon, 10k, 5k and Kids Fun Run, along a flat and fast paved course that alternates between the wooded trails of Kent Island and the scenic open space along Chesapeake Bay. The course terrain offers a mixture of paved roads, paved trails, crushed gravel roads and oyster shell trails along the bay.
Post Race will end with Awards, Food & Beverages, custom finisher awards to all finishers, including a grand prize vacation to Belize for the overall Half Marathon winner. All participant receive a tech shirt as well.
The proceeds from the race benefit the Our Haven Shelter, a mission of the Queen Anne's County Christian Assistance that provides shelter, meals and assistance to homeless men, women and children in the local area.
Additionally, Fifty 50 States HALF Marathon Club members receive a discount to this event to bring a more national presence to the event and encourage out of staters.
